Overview:

This is an introductory course for beginners who are completely new to kayaking and want to learn basic kayaking. In a half day session students will be apprised of the following skills.

  • Introduction to Kayaking Equipment and Basic Kayaking Terminologies
  • Basic flat water paddling skills including different paddle strokes and turning strokes
  • Balancing a Kayak
  • Bracing and leaning techniques
  • Self rescue techniques

Full Day

Duration – 6 hours
Price – Rs 3500 per/person

The full day beginner’s course is aimed at those who are completely new to kayaking and those who have some previous experience but want to start fresh. It’s a 6 hour course which introduces you to the basic nuances of kayaking in both flat water and simple white water. The following skills will be acquired in the course.

  • Introduction to Kayaking Equipment and Basic Kayaking Terminologies
  • Flat water paddling skills with focus on basic forward, back and turning strokes
  • Bracing and leaning techniques
  • Wet exit and self rescue mechanisms
  • Introduction to simple white water

2 Day Course

Duration – 6 hours/day
Price – Rs 7000 per person

Basic 2 day kayaking course starts from the basics of kayaking and moves on to advanced techniques used in paddling the fast moving river current. Skills acquired in this course are important in progressing towards more advanced white water paddling.

  • Introduction to Kayaking Equipment, Terminologies and Basic Paddling Skills
  • Bracing and Leaning techniques to improve balancing in whitewater
  • Self rescue mechanisms including T-rescue
  • How to eddy out and eddy in
  • Basic river reading skills
  • River ferrying techniques

4 Day Course

Duration – 6 hours/day
Price – Rs 14000 per/person

Our 4 day course in kayaking is one of our most sought after programs. It starts with a simple introduction to paddling and moves onto advanced white water skills with lot of focus in developing the basic skills.

  • Introduction to kayak and basic paddling skills
  • Bracing and Leaning techniques to improve balancing in white water
  • Self rescue mechanisms including T-rescue
  • Eddy-in, eddy-out and river ferrying techniques
  • Basic river reading skills including how to read river around rapids
  • Running a grade 2 river section for about 9 km which will include running class 1 to 2+ rapids
